It had been a long day, and Laelette had had a few too many. Waiting under the moonlight, a robed and hooded figure—someone filled with mystery and intrigue. Laelette (mostly Laelette) and this mystery figure spent the night chatting, when Laelette popped the question. They used Laelette’s golden bangles as a sign of their marriage. Now, to be fair, the figure’s wobbly and silent nature should have been a tip-off, or even their insistence that they wear their bangle on their neck, but it wasn’t until Laelette felt an unfamiliar lip to rabbit nose that she realized what had transpired.
The ruse was up, and the Skaffa abandoned their masterplan and bolted with the bangle, leaving Laelette with a robe, one less bangle, and a new estranged spouse. Spouses?
